October 25, 2008 Toy and Game Invention Workshop Have you always dreamed of inventing a game or toy? Maybe you've started designing a game or toy and would like to learn how to get a working prototype. Maybe you have a prototype, but it's not working. Ask yourself, "What do I know about inventing games or toys?" "What would I like to learn about inventing toys or games?" This workshop, sponsored by UCCS, is for you. April 25, 2008 Invention 2 VentureThe second Invention to Venture workshop hosted by UCCS was held on April 25, 2008 in the University Center Theatre. Part of a nationwide series of conferences focusing on technology entrepreneurship, speakers discussed opportunity assessment, intellectual property issues, marketing, and venture capital as it related to the conference theme "Doing Business with the Government."

April 19, 2008 Inventing Games: A Workshop for Kids Dr. Michael Larson presented a free game invention workshop at Celebration Place at the Citadel Mall. He started out by talking about what makes a game "fun." Next, he and other engineers from UCCS worked with groups to brainstorm ideas for a new game concept. They then settled on an idea and showed the participants how to design and create a prototype.

January 24, 2008 STTR/SBIR Workshop Dr. Terry Boult reviewed the STTR/SBIR program and discussed the process involved to produce winning grant proposals. He encouraged faculty, graduate students, and community members to write proposals to fund their research.

January 9, 2008: STTR/SBIR Proposal Workshop The goal of the workshop is to review the SBIR/STTR program and what it takes to produce winning proposals. EPIIC has offered many SBIR Seminars in the past, and this continued in that successful series. It was 3-10 P.M. at Copper Mountain so participants could get in a day of skiing (or work) before and after.

August 25, 2007: Mothers of Invention Workshop  Dr. Michael Larson, Ph.D., of UCCS’s Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and EPIIC's El Pomar Chair of Engineering and Innovation hosted this event.  The MOI workshop was designed to help women test their ideas, develop them, and either take their product prototypes to market or sell their ideas to an established company.  Held at The Penrose House over 130 people attended this informational event.  Imagination Celebration!, The Small Business Development Center, EPIIC , and El Pomar Foundation jointly presented the MOI Workshop.

April 27, 2007: Invention to Venture Workshop The first Invention to Venture workshop hosted by UCCS was held on April 27, 2007 in the University Center Theatre. Part of a nationwide series of conferences focusing on technology entrepreneurship, speakers discussed opportunity assessment, intellectual property issues, venture capital and much more. The I2V workshop was sponsored by the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance, KRCC Radio and The Gazette.

April 25, 2007: 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series presented Venture Capital by Patrick Bultema—Venture Partner, vSpring Capital . All of the 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series events were held at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in the University Center Theater. The series was sponsored by the Colorado Institute for Technology Transfer and Implementation (CITTI) and the Center for Entrepreneurship in the College of Business and Administration at UCCS.

February 28, 2007: 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series presented Successful Failure by Steve Baker—Founder, Global Group; Serial Entrepreneur; Author

February 20, 2007: 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series presented From founding to Exit in 14 years by Carlos Frum—Founder, Northbrook Computers; INC Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year; Entrepreneur in Residence, Depaul University

January 31, 2007: 2007 Entrepreneurial Finance Speaker Series presented Making Great Decisions in Business and Life by David Henderson, PhD—Hoover Fellow, Author, Frequent WSJ Op-Ed Contributor

November 10, 2006: STTR/SBIR Proposal Workshop The goal of the workshop was to review the SBIR/STTR program and what it takes to produce winning proposals. EPIIC has offered many SBIR Seminars in the past, but this version was a bit more focused on the STTR process intended for faculty and small businesses that want to partner with CU on STTR proposals.

October 20, 2005: SBIR/STTR Proposal Preparation Workshop: This workshop presented an overview of Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR) programs, grant opportunities and proposal preparation.

October 21, 2005: BioTechnology and BioInformatics Symposium: This was a community and academic forum.

August 17, 2005: Innovating the Innovation Zone: This was a presentation about a proposed Research Park on North Nevada

January 7, 2005: SBIR Workshop in conjunction with IEEE Conference The goal of the workshop was to review the SBIR program and what it takes to produce winning proposals.

Nov 6, 2003: SBIR/STTR Phase I Proposal Preparation Workshop Finding funding for technology is a challenge, especially in today's market. When bootstrapping one's business, exploring every financial opportunity is essential. Two grant programs providing much needed capital for technology-based product development of start-up companies are the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program.

September 19, 2003: Cybersecurity Symposium

June 4-6, 2003: BIS Conference, The College of Business and The Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs sponsored the 6th International Conference on Business Information Systems, a 3 day event that was previously held in Poznan, Poland.
